In a deviant act of sexual perversion, a teacher allegedly molested eight Adivasi girl students on the pretext of ‘taking measurements’ of their uniforms in rural Madhya Pradesh.

The teacher, Sanjeev Sharma, from Ganjbasoda's Nurpur Education Guarantee Scheme School allegedly ordered pairs of two girls from standard V in a closed classroom and were asked to take off their upper clothes so that he could measure the size of their bodies for their uniforms. He didn’t just stop there; instead, he went to measure them with his fingers instead of an inch-tape.

This shameful act took place and came to light when Manish Kumar, District Education Officer (DEO) Manish Kumar revealed this to the media. He said that the parents of the girls lodged a complaint against the particular teacher.

Before complaining, angry Adivasi villagers went to the school only to find the teacher having left the place after locking the school.

On receiving the complaint Kumar constituted a four-member team to probe the matter. The probe found the teacher prima facie guilty of the crime. This led the DEO to immediately terminate the services of the teacher.

This incident has forced the eight girls to stop going to the school in shame. Will the authorities now file a police FIR against the teacher so that the girls get justice and deter other teachers from doing something similar?
