Starting with an innovative new idea to attract students this admission season, the schools are sending out SMSs as admission notices to prospective students. Getting hold of admission agents, many new schools are sending out their respective details of admission dates and procedure, to people who are looking for a new school.

These advertisements like SMS is a perfect example of outsourced PR, the schools have come up with.

There are numerous new schools in the country today, which have excellent infrastructure, good teachers, good resources and a campus supported by latest technologies and facilities.  What they lack is a reputation and the best way to get into public eye is an SMS.

While parents might be thinking of established schools like Baldwin’s, Bishop Cotton’s, Frank Anthony Public School, National Public School etc for their wards, as these are more or less brand names in themselves; the new SMS idea, gets them thinking about these well equipped, yet not so famous schools as well.

Thanks to the agents who might be independent workers or from ad-agencies, the SMS sent are the fastest and easiest advertising the schools can get. All that the agent needs is a database from a telecom service provider, a bulk payment made in advance by the schools and there he gets on the job.

The new ideas at advertising are surely bringing in some numbers to these schools and as far as their aim of attracting students is concerned, it certainly is being fulfilled. Will they be able to ensure a steady inflow in the years to follow, will depend upon the quality of education and overall environment these schools manage to provide.
