The series of attacks on North Eastern student community has made Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit convene a high level meeting on this regard. Attended by all stakeholders including top government officials the meeting sought various ways to solve the crisis.

The Chief Minister let out details of the meet at Jantar Mantar while addressing a rally organised by the North East Students Organisation yesterday for protesting against the racial and physical abuses made against their students. AICC general secretary, Oscar Fernandes and Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjay were also present at the function.

She promised to hold yet another meeting in the presence of their representatives and North-East MPs soon. Government officials concerned, Delhi Police officers and other stake holders will also take part in this meeting in which all the problems faced by students from the North-East will be discussed.

Dixit, however, refused to put her nose into the complaints regarding police   misbehaviour by saying that those are matters coming under the Union Home Ministry.
