The results for CAT 2010 (Common Admission Test 2010) have been announced. These are available online at www.catiim.in
For those who face difficulty in accessing their results, a toll-free helpline has been provided: 1800 103 9293. Much significance is attached to the exam, and its result, as anyone clearing the CAT becomes eligible to join the world's most-wanted (at least in India) jobs that pay virtually a king's ransom on a monthly basis, in other words, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) especially and various others. The number of students who took the exam is 1.86 lakh. The exam was held between October 27 and November 24.
The results reveal Eight candidates have notched a 100 percentile score, following them at 99.9 percent score are 19 candidates, including two women from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The CAT scores will be used by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) besides a number of business schools in the country to admit students. As has been the trend with CAT for a while now, all eight top scorers are men and come from an engineering background, it is learnt. This does not come as a surprise considering the fact that 88 per cent of the total candidates who took CAT 2010 were from engineering background.
