The application form for appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) entrance examinations will be available for sale in cash from February 20, 2010 to March 12, 2010 (both days inclusive).  The cost of the form for General/OBC category will be Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 for SC/ST and female candidates of all categories. The forms can be bought from all Head Post Offices and Mukhya Dak Ghars of UP, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehra Dun, Delhi, Jaipur and Nainital.

The Uttar Pradesh government has rejected the new UPTU entrance exams proposal that sought implementation of new norms for eligibility of candidates as well as the examination marking process. The old norms would continue where there would be no negative marking on wrong answers and it would not be compulsory for candidates to acquire 60 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) in their school passing (intermediate) exams.

While speaking at the seventh convocation ceremony of the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) on Tuesday, former president APJ Abdul Kalam exhorted the students to help in bridging the gap between the rural and urban sectors by emulating his development model, which is titled as ‘Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas’ (PURA).

In a move to improve its quality of technical education, the UP Technical University (UPTU) plans to form a club of educationists, industrialists and bureaucrats. The purpose is to take innovative decisions in this direction. The proposed club will be titled “Friends of UPTU”.

In what might appear as an ironic situation, the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has sent out notices to all its technical institutes within the state, to send the attendance details of students; however, at the same time there are about a couple of a dozen colleges under UPTU, which are on the verge of closure due to shortage of candidates.

The Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) has announced that the 2010 State Entrance Examination (SEE) will be conducted on April 17 and 18, 2010. Making the announcement, Registrar, UPTU Registrar, US Tomar added that the university had already notified all the institutions concerned to make relevant changes in their examination schedule and shift the dates of those examinations that are fixed on these days.
 
 

Keeping the aim of better employability of its students in mind, the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow, has planned to begin a new course in design and manufacturing, which will be a master’s degree course.

The Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) is soon to begin with the dry run of its virtual classrooms. The initial sessions are planned to begin as early as January 2010. The Noida campus shall serve as the centre from where the classes shall be conducted, and beamed via 12 nodal centres in the initial trial.

Having crossed the hurdle of bringing a reservation quota of 50 percent for students belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes (SC/ST) and other backward classes (OBC) in private technical educational institutes; the Mayavati Government now has its eyes set on the next target. New on its agenda is the implementation of fee concession for these categories of students in the private colleges.

As India is gearing for the numerous education reforms and education rings, Uttar Pradesh (UP) government too has decided to recast some of the examination rules for high school students, especially those failing to pass in one or more subjects in the first attempt.
