Teachers' recruitment scam: Two arrested on corruption charges

Police arrested two persons for allegedly demanding Rs 4.5 lakh from a woman candidate for getting her appointed as teacher. Ironically the event took place on Teachers’ Day itself in Chandigarh. The accused, Jolly and Hardev Singh, were arrested on the complaint registered by Kamalpreet Kaur at the UT Additional Deputy Commissioner’s office.

A major fees and admission scam in the offing in AICTE

Even as top brass of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is cooling heals in jail, the apex Central regulatory agency seems to be in for a major admission scam. Many more skeletons are expected to come out of the closet of the AICTE as the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Kapil Sibal, is determined to stem the rot in the deemed universities.

Top AICTE officials caught taking bribe; in CBI net

All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Member-Secretary caught red handed with a middleman by the CBI on a complaint of the owner of an Andhra Pradesh engineering college on Thursday. They were accused of demanding and accepting a Rs 5 lakh as bribe from him.
