With a great new plan to introduce a core curriculum for all state boards across the nation, the board is poised to bring in a big time change.

Salary of the faculty of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and four other medical institutes of excellence will be at par with those offered in IITs and IIMs. A decision in this regard was taken by the Union Cabinet on Tuesday. From this parity of pay scales, as much as five reputed medical institutes’ staffs are supposed to get pay benefits. 

In a stinging rebuff to the lightening strike by junior doctors of Amritsar, Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Tikshan Sud called the move irresponsible and uncalled for and unbecoming of the medical professionals.
