    The IIT Roorkee scientists stood by the seismic study they had carried out on the Mullaperiyar dam even as the Tamil Nadu government rubbished their findings. The issue seems to have taken a serious turn with the scientists remaining firm on their findings according to which the dam is seismically unsafe.

    Following an almost 200-300 percent hike in the fees of all ICSE registered schools, the Patna High Court has directed the central government counsel to seek all required information as to why the hike was implemented.

    Acting on a PIL by Sudhir Kumar Ojha, the HC wants all information on the hike from the Union HRD secretary, within a time frame of three weeks. The court wants to know the circumstances leading the board to increase the fee so drastically.
